San Francisco FrontRunners Pride Run 2024

The San Francisco Front Runners (SFFR) will host its 45th Annual Pride Run in June. This year, SFFR Pride Run will benefit the LGBT Asylum Project. The Project (www.lgbrasylumproject.org)  is the only San Francisco nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to providing accessible legal representation for LGBT asylum seekers who are fleeing persecution due to their sexual orientation, gender identity and/or HIV status.

The Pride Run will take place on Saturday, June 29th at 9:00am in Golden Gate Park.  The event includes 5K and 10K races that start in the park at the intersection of Middle Drive West and Metson Road at 9:00 am, with a shorter Kids Dash before the start of the race. Online registration at a cost of $50 at https://www.sffr.org/priderun closes on Tuesday, June 25. Club members can use the following $5 discount code when registering: PRIDE24BLFR. Same day registration may not be available, so plan ahead.  If the registration fee is not within a BLFR member’s budget, BLFR has a fund to help assist with the registration fee that can be accessed by contacting the club president, Rob Leasure (president@baylands.org).

If you are interested in carpooling, contact Bruce Christenson (bruce.christenson@me.com). As in the past two years, we will also plan to hold a potluck, picnic-in-the-park following the Pride Run for BLFR members and their friends.

Note: The SFFR is also looking for volunteers to help out on race day; the link for signing up as a volunteer can be found on the same site above for race registration.
